Travel update and Italy photos
As promised, I have put up a few photographs from my Italian travels. I apologise for the gloomy, grey appearance of Milan but even the Med countries get autumn weather.
By the time I arrived in Switzerland and the southern side of the Alps the rainy weather had caught up with me. Low clouds and mist from the Alpine lakes shrouded the views so my time was spent in and around the Italian speaking Swiss town of Lugano.
As I headed north and through the Alps the blue skies, sunshine and fresh air made up for it all. Spectacular views of Europe’s highest mountains from one of the fastest trains and passing through some of the longest tunnels in the world.
Zurich offered gentle strolls down the side of Zurichsee and through the narrow streets of the old city in the heart of German speaking Switzerland. Access by the hundreds of trams made getting about so quick and enjoyable in one of the cleanest, most charming cities I have visited.
